If you’re anything like me, then one of my biggest gripes is that I don’t give myself enough time off.
There is always something that needs to be done, but isn’t that why we decided to work for ourselves?
We didn’t want people to tell us what needed to be done and when to do it. (at least I know that’s what I love about not working for anyone else)
I used to hate it when I worked for the post office and I was always told that I needed to get my mail route done at a certain time.
Especially on rainy days like it is today…I get to stay indoors instead of walking outside.
Or when they would tell me that I would have to work overtime, even if I didn’t want to.
My biggest problem is that I don’t take enough breaks.
It’s Saturday morning, I should’ve slept in late and taken the morning to enjoy a couple cups of coffee. (I always have two cups on Saturdays) But instead of sleeping in, I decided to get up early and get quite a bit done in the early morning hours.
Let me share with you how productive my Saturday has been.
- I woke up at 4:00 a.m. (without an alarm) and went to work out at the gym.
- Came home took a shower ate breakfast.
- Uploaded some new articles to my PLR Store.
- Answered some emails that I received.
- Did a load of laundry and ran the dishwasher.
- Now I am sitting in in front of my writing this blog post.
- Then later today…I have to do a research paper for school work and some other projects.
Wow, I’m tired already and it’s only 9:30 a.m.
By the way I am drinking my second cup of coffee while I’m writing this post.
Why I Decided To Use A Time Management Clock
Many people choose to use a time management clock because it’s their way of getting more done.
I am using one because I need to learn how to take more breaks during the day.
See I don’t really get time to work on my business during the week. I usually wait till the weekend to work on it. So I find myself trying to get everything done in just a day and a half.
That makes it very hard, especially when I am working on my product creation project.
Needless to say that sitting at the computer ends up hurting my neck and my shoulders.
So I need to start treating my body better.
I wanted to share with you the time management clock that I downloaded yesterday morning and have started using. It’s called Focus Booster App and it’s a free application that you can download for either PC or Mac.
You can set the timer to the amount of time that you want to work on your project. As the timer counts down the color changes.
I have set my break increments to 15 minutes as this gives me enough time to get up and stretch or even take my dog out for a walk.

Since using the timer, I’ve noticed that I not only get more done, but I feel a lot better.
My neck is not as sore as it used to be when I sat in front of the computer all day without any breaks.
I know that a lot of people just use kitchen timers, but this seems to work better for me.

Some Of My Personal Time Wasters
I am not like most people who spend a lot of time browsing Facebook. My biggest time waster is checking my email. I don’t know why I feel like I have to log into my accounts more than once per day.
I also love to spend time downloading music. I love listening to music while working out, so I always find myself downloading music to my MP3 that I use while working out.
