This past weekend I spent some time listing two websites on Flippa. As many of you know I love selling a website on Flippa and making quick cash. I been doing that for a couple months now. I have to admit, I don’t list as many sites as I used to. This is because I have been busy working on my product creation projects.
Selling A Website What Type Of Sites I Am Selling
I tend to sell two types of sites on Flippa and have some success with both types. This past weekend I decided that I was going to list some more sites.
So I have set up two Flippa auctions and they are the same sites that I have set up on my WP PLR Blogs site.
In the past I focused on selling re-seller sites. Re-seller sites are sites that offer services that the buyer can re-sell. I would set up a site that offers some type of service such as:
- Social Bookmarking
- Traffic Generation
- Video Marketing
- Backlink Building
- Article Writing
- Press Release
- Social Media
(those sites sell really well) However, I have also noticed that PLR blogs tend to sell very well. I find that many people who are getting started online do not know how to set up a WordPress site or want to get a site that already has premium plugins and a great looking theme.
Take a look at one of the PLR sites that I sold online recently, it was a 3 day auction and it got 17 bids.
This site took me just 40 minutes to set up and add images and plugins that I sell my sites with. I purchased these sites a while ago and they have been sitting on my hard drive, so I decided that I should start selling them to see if they would make me some money.
As you can see I was able to make $130.00 for this one particular site. I have sold several other sites that sell for either more or less as well.
They don’t always sell for a $130.00 but if you consider that I already have the site pre-made on my hard drive. All I have to do is purchase a domain from GoDaddy (which I always search for GoDaddy coupons) that help me spend less on a domain.
Then I use WP Twin to quickly set up my site on my hosting account.
WP Twin is a plugin that quickly and easily backups and clones a WordPress site. This makes it easy to backup a site and move it from one hosting account to another. I have personally found that this plugin is an awesome tool for anyone who flips websites.
It makes transferring the site after it sells a breeze. You don’t have to mess around with any mysqul databases or anything at all. All you have to do is upload the WP Twin files into the root of the site you are backing up and cloning and then clone the site.
Once the site is cloned you can download the clone and save it on your computer to use after the site sells
Many of the people who buy my sites are brand new to internet marketing and do not know how to transfer a site. When selling a website on Flippa, you should consider transferring the site for free, as this will help make your auction look more enticing to the buyer.
Another thing that I offer when selling a website on Flippa is 30 days support after the sale. I want to ensure that the buyer gets their site up and running and can be in a profitable position as quickly as possible to begin earning from their new site.
Selling A Website How To List Your Site?
If you have never listed a site on Flippa, then you may not know how difficult they make it to create the auction inside of the Flippa site. However, I found a really simple way to set up a Flippa auction quickly. This makes creating an auction a lot easier.
When I first got started using Flippa, it took me forever to create an auction because I did not know what I was doing.
Now, I can list a website in about half an hour. I have all the plugins that I use for my auctions in a separate folder on my computer.
Plus I already have several pre-written Flippa auction templates that I use. All I have to do is change the domain name in the template and then cut and paste it into my account.
Stay tuned for the results from my auctions, I will keep you updated on whether or not they sell or not, and if so how much they sell for.
I will also tell you about a site I sold outside of Flippa after the auction ended. (This is a big NO NO). You are not supposed to sell your sites outside of Flippa after the auction ends, but I will share my experience of why and how I did it.
