As you know, when I first got started with my blog, I joined the Blogging With John Chow course to get a better understanding of how blogging works. Yes, I have had several WordPress sites in the past, but never really got involved with blogging on a daily basis.
Well now it is time for my Only Wire review and share my 30 day traffic stats.
My Onlywire Review
I started my blog in May, but I ended up losing it because I did something stupid and was unable to recover my lost site. (Now I am protected and ensure that I get daily backups of my site, to prevent losing it again.)
Anyway, I set up my site for the second time on the 7th of June and decided to sign up with Only Wire to help me with the promotion of my site in hopes of driving traffic to my site.
I signed up with Onlywire on the 26th of last month. Yesterday has been a full 30 days that I signed up and wanted to give you a review of where my traffic is today after one full month of using them.
I used their service for 7 days before I signed up for the subscription, they offer a 7 day trial.
As you can see my traffic has increased quite a bit. Now I am not a huge stats person, to tell the truth I really don’t pay a lot of attention to my stats, I just don’t like to see it at zero or the really low numbers.
Here are my Google Analytics Stats For The Past 30 Days
- 172 People visiting the site
- 05:36 is the average duration of time spent on site
- 629 Page Views
- 65.60% Bounce Rate
- 78.90% New Visits
- 21.1% Returning Visitors
Now as I mentioned I am not really sure what all these stats mean, as I have never really paid any attention to my Google Analytics, but I am glad to finally be seeing some traffic to my blog.
What I Did For 30 Days To Increase My Traffic
Now using Onlywire was not all I did, I also used the free account of Social Adr to submit my site 3 times during the month of July. I submitted different URL’s of my site each time I did a submission.
When I ran a submission on Social Adr, I only used 50 submissions per link. I have personally never ran more than 50 submissions on one link.
I also used the methods that are taught in the Blogging With John Chow method, where he discusses taking the time to find blogs to comment on a daily basis.
I started commenting on blogs on the 9th of July. (Yes I keep a spreadsheet with the days that I comment on blogs as well as a link to the blog that I commented on)
I try to stay organized as this helps me stay on task of what needs to be done. I have personally found that if I don’t do this, I won’t know what needs to be done for the day.
I have to admit that I was not consistent on the comments, I commented on two different blogs on the 9th and then did not comment again until the 15th. This is something that I am learning to be more consistent on.
I found a blog online while learning how to build relationships through commenting and Adrienne Smith has an awesome post of how she built up a successful blogging community on her own blog.
She discusses everything that she did to build up a successful blog. It is a lot of work, but I started implementing some of the steps that she talks about on the 24th of this month.
So I am not sure if any of the stats are due to the methods that I started implementing from Adrienne Smith? I personally think that it is too early to tell on that?
How Many I Signed Up For On Onlywire
When you get an account on Onlywire, (depending on what type of account you get) you get the option of signing up with 47 social networks to sign up. However, after I checked out all the networks, my blog would not really fit in all of them.
So I decided to sign up with only 12, I could have signed up with more, but did not want to take the time.
I may end up signing up more of the networks as I get a total of 1,000 submissions for the month and I only used 556 of them last month.
These are my submissions, I think I only missed one submission last month as I did not post on my blog one day last month. Yes I try to post at least one blog post each and everyday.
It is a lot of work, but this is something that is taught in the Blogging With John Chow course.
Social Networks Set Up
When it comes to using the social networks, I have to admit, I need more work on that part. I don’t really know how to use them and all I really do on my Facebook Fanpage and Twitter account is I have my RSS feed from my blog set up. When I post a post on my blog, it automatically gets posted to my social accounts.
No I do not use Onlywire for this. I am using the RSS Graffiti App to post automatically to my accounts.
Final Overview Of My 30 Day Traffic Stats
So now you know what I have been doing in the past 30 days to help me get to that point. As I mentioned I only did the following in the past 30 days to help me grow my traffic to my blog.
- Onlywire: have 12 networks set up for automatic submission for my blog posts.
- Social Adr: I use the free account and have used it 3 times in the 30 days.
- Social Networks: I have a Fanpage and a Twitter account. (Although I need to learn how to use them better) I just post the blog posts on them automatically.
- Commenting: I started blog commenting on 9th of July and skipped several days. However, I started using it on a daily basis on the 24th of July and will continue to post 6 comments per day for the next 30 days.
My Plans For The Next 30 Days
I have decided to keep my subscription of Onlywire as it helps me out. I will continue what I am doing by blogging at least one post daily. The only challenge that I see is that I start school in the middle of August so that is going to challenge me. However, I plan to continue.
I am also going to implement some more of the strategies that Adrienne Smith talks about in her blog. I will continue to leave useful comments on 6 blogs everyday. I have noticed that this has definitely helped drive traffic to my site.
I feel like there is so much to do. Taking care of this blog seems to take up a lot of my time. I am sure that once I get everything set up for it, I may find some relief in my daily tasks.
I have never taken the time to build online relationships. As I mentioned before, I was always into setting up affiliate niche sites and ranking them to make a quick profit. I still have some of those sites. But with my personal site, I am using it to build personal relationships and hope to offer value to my readers.
