Okay, today I wanted to provide you with some quick results of my auctions that just ended recently. As many of you know, I am flipping 3-4 websites per week. (Well whenever I get a chance to set up that many websites) Anyway, I had 3 sites up for auction this past week and those auctions just ended. To tell you the truth it is a little embarrassing about the results I got, but here they are.
My Flippa Auction Results
None of my sites sold, I got bids on all my sites and here are the bid amounts.
1st site: $10
2nd site: $10
3rd site: $60
Now I know what you are thinking, why didn’t the third site sell, especially since I got a $60 bid. Well the truth is that I had set the reserve for $75 and decided not to lower it.
If you have flipped any sites on Flippa then you know that the people you sell your sites to can require a lot of attention. While I do not mind providing customer support, I just want to ensure that I am selling my sites for a reasonable price.
Why You Should Provide Customer Support
While you do not have to provide customer support to the people who purchase your sites, I do offer 30 days support. This is because I want to ensure that the people who purchase my sites are up and running and are able to get a grasp on their new site.
Now by offering customer support you are showing your customers that you care about them and that you won’t leave them hanging after the sale. I do get emails from several people who purchase my sites, in fact I sold one two weeks ago and I am still getting emails from the person who purchased two of my sites.
This makes them feel good about doing business with you, plus they will leave you positive feedback on Flippa, which will help your other auctions. Buyers who are looking for sites will love to read your feedback. If you have a lot of positive feedback, then they will be more willing to purchase a site from you.
I just try to treat my customers the way that I would like to be treated if I purchased something.
When To Charge For Your Services?
Now just because you offered 30 days customer support, does not mean that you have to do everything for free. In my support, I mention that I offer consultation. This means that if they have a question, I am willing to answer it the best I can.
If I sell sites with pricing tables, I will change the links to their links for free one time. (some people charge for this service, but I do it as a part of the purchase) However, just recently someone that purchased a site from me changed the PayPal links again and wants me to change them the second time. Since I already changed them once for free, I charged her a fee to change them the second time.
So as you can see, providing customer service to your buyers does not mean that you have to do everything for free. I have been paid for my services to change the font on websites that people have purchased, change the pricing tables.
I even quoted someone to help them set up their ebook. That person has not followed through on the purchase of my services, but if they do, I know that I will be getting paid for my services.
So if you are planning on selling websites, offer 30 days customer support and provide them with consultation. They will love you for it and the best part is that you will get great feedback on Flippa and who knows maybe they will ask you to do something for them that you can charge them for. (Just be sure that you charge a reasonable price) We all want to get treated fairly.
If you treat people like you want to be treated, then you will do fine flipping websites on Flippa or any other online endeavor.
