As I delve deeper into email marketing, I am realizing that it is a lot more work than I had anticipated. I realize that you just have to set up the email follow ups once and they are set up. However, I want to provide as much value as I can to the people who sign up.
Working On Email Follow Ups
I currently have some of my email follow ups set up, however, I would like to have over 50 set up on my lists so I will not have to worry about working on them each and everyday. The one thing that I am working on though is providing as much value as I possibly can to help people who sign up for my email list.
I know how annoying it can be when you are subscribed to several email lists and all they do is bombard you with the next big internet marketing tool that you just can’t live without. In fact I have made it a point to unsubscribe to several of the email lists that I was subscribed to.
I am sure that several online marketers in the “make money” niche are on several lists. You may have noticed how when a new product comes out, you get several emails telling you that you can’t live without that product.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to base my email follow ups on this type of method. My goal is to provide the subscribers of my email list with value. This is the reason that it is taking me so long to write these follow ups.
What I am Looking For In Email Follow Ups
I am personally involved with several coaching programs that I am using to help me build my email list. One of the programs that I am involved with is the Elite Email Academy, it is based on making list building your priority and providing value to your list.
Of course the program also goes into different ways to build up your list. I personally have not used any of those methods yet. Right now I am focusing on setting up some email follow ups first and this is taking longer than I had anticipated.
I will of course discuss some of the methods that the coaching program talks about to help you grow your email list later on.
Marketing Affiliate Products In Your Follow Ups
In the past I was a marketer who pushed all kinds of affiliate products in hopes of making money. I did make decent money from affiliate marketing. I am not opposed to setting up a niche site in hopes of making money. But when it comes to my email list, I don’t want to push just any type of affiliate product just to make money.
After all these people have signed up to my email list because they want to learn something. I personally know how frustrating it can be to try to find the information that they need to get started online.
There is so much information online about making money and while all of it is not bad. As someone who is getting started online, the main thing that you need to do is focus on one aspect. If you try to get too much information, you could end up losing focus and eventually nothing will work for you.
I have personally been down the path of reading too much information and then not getting anything done. This year, I have become involved with several coaching programs that are teaching me how to implement certain aspects of my online business.
I am working on building a brand for myself and actually implementing a method that will help me succeed online. Several big gurus say that the “money is in the list.” I have tried to build a list in the past and never had success.
This time around I am going to do it the right way and will have the success that I am looking for.
The coaching programs that I am involve with talk about promoting your own products to your list. While I do have two of my own products set up, I need to find time to create more of my own products.
Marketing my own products to people that can help them grow their business will be better in my opinion than marketing an affiliate product that may or may not help them grow their business. Of course there is nothing wrong with using a combination of both affiliate and your own products.
But I don’t always want to be promoting affiliate products, especially if I don’t know anything about that particular product.

When it comes to setting up your email follow ups, what do you promote to your list? Are you promoting your own products or are you using affiliate products? I would also like to know how many email follow ups do you set up in advance?
